The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in the state of California he was 55 years old.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential game designer passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a highway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
