Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to enhance its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have started manufacturing, with an additional eleven getting ready to set up production lines, the defence ministry stated on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Tested in Combat Situations

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created system known as “Octopus” designed to neutralize Iranian-made drones. This technology underwent testing in combat and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.

Latest Attack on the Capital Characterized as Calculated

The Ukrainian president characterized Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, calculated and brutal” following six individuals were killed and many others wounded in a series of night-time strikes across Kyiv. Air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv shortly after 12 AM this past Friday, with Shahed drones quickly detected overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukrainian air defences.

Ukrainian Strikes Focus on Moscow's Oil Facilities

Russia’s Black Sea port of the port city temporarily suspended oil exports on Friday – representing two percent of worldwide oil production – following a Ukrainian missile and drone attack. Military commanders in Kyiv said its forces had launched Neptune cruise missiles and deployed various types of strike drones in the attack on Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to reduce the strategic capabilities of the invading force.”

Ukraine separately targeted a processing plant in Russia’s Saratov region and a fuel storage facility in nearby Engels during the night.

Global Restrictions Impact Moscow's Oil Producer

The number two oil producer Lukoil announced on Friday it is negotiating with interested parties regarding its foreign assets after recent sanctions from Western nations and failure of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once conclusive negotiations are completed and the necessary regulatory approvals are secured,” Lukoil commented.

Zelenskyy Schedules Visit to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to confer with parliament members following his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. Zelenskyy will convene with representatives from both chambers of parliament throughout his stay, an official announcement said.
