The Renowned Musician Urges Public Help to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti said. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced in the wake of a solidarity show held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of artists contributing to Lullaby encompasses a range of acclaimed names from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a considerable total for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a group of producers and composers. The track blends a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the initiative have clarified that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The reality in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be destroyed or damaged.

“Given that reality, a few million is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”

The song is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
