Recent Information Emerge Regarding the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.
A Discovery
As detailed in an account quoting a family associate, a therapist scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the home. The therapist then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides nearby.
Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had gone with her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Developments
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently in custody without bail.
Correcting the Record
The anonymous source questioned several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.
Additionally disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's actions in the preceding period. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to reports of alleged "unstable" behavior by Nick at a event thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.
Investigation Timeline
According to law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some media reports suggested the state of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was due to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
